bullet The CSCS

The AA Group Ltd is committed to the promotion and improvement of Health & Safety on all of their construction sites in the UK. With this in mind all of our site staff are registered under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).

All site supervisors and operatives hold a registration card, which lasts for three to five years. The card provides evidence that the holder has undergone health and safety awareness training or testing. The test is a 45-minute multiple-choice test on health and safety in construction. It is a screen-based test and there is a maximum of 40 questions to answer.

CSCS is owned and managed by CSCS Limited, controlled by a management board whose members are from The Construction Confederation, Federation of Master Builders, GMB Trade Union, National Specialist Contractors Council, Transport and General Workers Union and Union of Construction Allied Trades and Technicians.

Observer members include the Department for Education and Employment, the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, the Health and Safety Executive and the Confederation of Construction Clients.

The CITB was appointed by the Management Board to administer the scheme.

The scheme is another step by TAAG in assuring our clients that our operatives' skills are of the highest standard and have been validated against national standards with the required knowledge to operate safely on site.

The erection of structural steel requires safety and workmanship to be at the highest level and this scheme provides the evidence required by our Clients.
